Magpie Monday: Pretty Things

Last Monday, I posted some breastfeeding friendly bargains from the online charity shops. This week, I stayed virtuous and kept my purse shut, but was lucky enough to pick up 16 gorgeous seventies sewing books via Freecycle. Alongside some really clear instructions for various sewing and dressmaking techniques, there are some fabulous retro projects that are going to keep tempting me away from work.

I have to concentrate on the websites in the run up to Christmas, but in the meantime, I’m just enjoying looking at the beautiful prints on the fabric covers. How often do you see books like this now?

P.S. I held firm and haven’t bought the military style jacket. If anyone else wants a bargain, it’s still there!

This week, as the lovely Missie Lizzie is without internet, I am hosting the Magpie Monday linky. Please link up and check out everyone else’s posts too. Normal service should be resumed next week at Me and my shadow.

  1. Wow those books look fab inside and out!

  2. Looks like you are going to be busy. I am loving all that colour. Have linked up

  3. I love the vintage sewing books, would have snapped them up too!

  4. Looks like lots of us are resisting the bargains this week. Nothing thrifty for me to share, but I did a makeover from a thrifty bargain piece of furniture which was in desperate need of some love.
Oh my, those clothes bring back memories ! I feel O.L.D.

  5. Loving those groovy clothes man 😉

  6. Wow, the covers of those books are beautiful – I would have bought regardless of what is inside, but it looks like there are some fab projects inside too! Thanks for hosting MM this week – I didn't know Liz was without internet x
